February 15, 2023 – Hoboken, NJ —Wiley, a global leader in research and education, today announced the 2023 release of its Wiley Identifier of Natural Products (AntiBase Library + ChemWindow).
Originally developed by Prof. Hartmut Laatsch, this comprehensive natural products database now offers more than 58,000 natural compounds exhibiting anti-infective or antitumor properties. Containing their chemical structures and properties, it is known to be an effective screening tool for metabolomics and drug discovery where natural products and derivatives can accelerate development of treatments in cancer, diabetes, antimicrobial, antifungal, and other disease research.
The database is also used throughout many industries such as food & cosmetics, agriculture, pesticides, and others, where natural products are prevalent or in academic programs and research.
“We are happy to continue the work of Prof Laatsch, providing a proven and continuously updated database to the community to aid them to quickly identify compounds that have already been studied and narrow down possible novel compounds having antimicrobial, antitumor, or other desired effects,” said Graeme Whitley, Product Director of Wiley Science Solutions, “combined with the sophisticated cheminformatics and databasing tools bundled in ChemWindow, researchers have a complete solution for high-throughput screening (HTS) and de-replication workflows.”
