In this Edinburgh Instruments study, Raman spectroscopy is used to identify and authenticate if a gemstone is real or an imitation. Spectra run on a RM5 Raman Microscope were compared to the KnowItAll Raman spectral library to confirm the gemstone's composition and authenticity.
