This Nanalysis case study examines how to enhance forensic drug analysis workflows so that benchtop NMR users can rapidly identify complex street drug mixtures. By coupling the Nanalysis benchtop NMR spectrometer with Wiley's KnowItAll software, seized drug spectra can be easily imported, processed, and searched against a custom illicit drugs database. For this workflow, street samples of amphetamine, cocaine, and heroin were analyzed to determine the composition and adulterants, with successful component identification when matched against the reference database.
